Boomerang

This boomerang is made from native Australian wood. It has been hand-decorated by a young Aboriginal woman, and tells the story of of her people who live by the sea.

There are several varieties of boomerangs. This traditional hunting boomerang is long on one side, and short on the other side. There are more Aboriginal souvenirs on sale at the Aborigine Art Gallery souvenir shop. Purchases will support employment in these communities, and help preserve their culture.

A very nice piece. I wonder if these Australian boomerangs might be a nice addition to my own gallery. Maybe I might put something up at my blog too.
