All the little geometric shapes (motifs) you see on the dotted art have meanings.

In the past they were used for communication between tribes, and as a way of preserving their stories on caves and on tree bark.

Fish 魚


This is an astonishing dot painting by an aboriginal artist living in Queensland, Australia. The colours chosen are representative of the coastal aborigines, whose themes frequently depict creatures from the river and the ocean. Observe how significantly different this art is from the ones drawn by the desert people.
